Thank goodness for high speed shutters.

We spent Saturday in Long Beach at the Toyota Grand Prix soaking up the sun and playing with my Nikon. I had never tried the high speed setting and was happy to say that it worked. Without it, most of my shots would have simply been images of the track... no cars. The whining sound of the cars flying by is deafening at times, but still amazing to listen to. It certainly does not rival my love of the sound a Huey makes, but its pretty high up there. With Tecate beers in hand, we strolled the areas around the course, enjoyed the interesting fashion statements that accompany the races and made silly phone calls just so we could share the noise with other people. All in all, it was a just a nice day with my husband.
As for this guy here, I think maybe he should have brought his wife to the track. She might have been able to dissuade him from bringing home such an interesting souvenir.
