As a celebration of our growing family my visiting family opened up a bottle of Château Mouton Rothschild 1994 for dinner tonight. Coupled with a nice filet mignon, some roasted potatoes and yummy corn, it was fantastic. While I am normally happy with a bottle of Smoking Loon 2008 (retailing for $5.99 on sale at the local grocery store), I have to admit that drinking a real glass of wine was quite enjoyable and made me see what I have been missing. Now that I am in my 3rd trimester, I have enjoyed a bit of wine here and there (I usually pour a glass, take a few sips and forget where I put it thus finding it much later and when it is no longer appealing), but this glass was definitely worth drinking. Trust me when I tell you that I did not forget where I put this glass. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised when our daughter gets older and only likes the good stuff because technically, the first full glass of wine she has ever had was a bottle worth about $300. Nice.
